Besides running film festivals , James wrote, produced and directed six bodies of work including; "In the Cold" (co-written with partner Peter Wass), "The other side", "Look what the Cat Dragged in", "Done Deal", "No Country No Sanctuary and his latest "The Track Incident". The last 5 years have been spent writing and researching his screenplay "No Country No Sanctuary", this is a true story and set in 1998 during the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq. Here the central character (Bashir) an 18year old man, is framed for a murder that he did not commit. As retribution for not attending a Baath Party meeting, he is pinned for a murder that he did not commit. He flees Iraq and struggles to survive across 3 dangerous countries before finally being picked up by the UN and receiving a "one way ticket" to freedom. Recently James has been involved in writing an 6 part TV / Streaming series of "Done Deal - Capple Beach". This is a rewrite of the original screenplay of "Done Deal" and according to James is a more raunchier and edgy version of the first.
